But Everything Changed in the
Aftermath of Hurricane Debby…
In August of 2024, Hurricane Debby severely impacted our community, with the worst damage resulting from flood waters days after the eye of the storm had passed. The Way Station Food Pantry was hit hard. Not only were large stores of food and supplies ruined, but our building was also damaged beyond repair.
Through the help of dozens of volunteers, we were able to salvage what we could and set up a temporary pantry location in a corner of the youth room at nearby Church of the Hill; a location we continue to operate from today.
“When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.”
Isaiah 43:2
Together, we can rebuild.
While The Way Station Food Pantry has been able to maintain distribution of food to clients, our temporary location presents a host of challenges and risks that make it unsustainable.
After a thorough review of available options within existing buildings on the Church of the Hill property, it was decided that the best way to support the Pantry and ministry (in both its current state and for future growth as the county and community continue to grow) is to build a new structure where the former building existed.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
1 Peter 4:10

Ask any of our volunteers and they will share stories of ways the Lord, in His faithfulness, has provided specific items that meet very specific requests exactly when they were needed. And now, with full faith, we know He has good plans to build a new way to continue to serve our community.
